Toss - England chose to bowl first vs Ireland
England brought Sonny Baker in for his T20I debut and gave Jordan Cox his first appearance since November as they looked to finish the summer with a series victory in Ireland. Baker replaced Sam Curran, who has travelled home from Dublin for personal reasons, while Will Jacks also sat out.
Baker said he was "desperate" to play on this tour after his nightmare England debut against South Africa at Headingley earlier this month, when he returned eye-watering figures of 0 for 76 from seven overs. He was presented his T20I cap by Tom Banton - a fellow King's College Taunton old boy - in front of his family and girlfriend.
Ireland mirrored their opponents in making two changes and handing out a debut cap. Ben Calitz, a Canadian-born left-hander with South African heritage, replaced George Dockrell in the middle order. And legspinner Ben White came in for Graham Hume, whose two overs cost 36 runs in Wednesday's series opener.
England opted to bowl first on a cold but sunny afternoon on the outskirts of Dublin, with a sold-out crowd of more than 4,000 anticipated at Malahide Cricket Club. There was one area of concern in the outfield after heavy rainfall this week, but the umpires deemed the ground playable.
England head into the third T20I with a 1-0 lead after their four-wicket win on Wednesday and a soggy abandonment on Friday.
