Vinayak Shukla has been named Jatinder's deputy, while Oman made five changes to their squad for the Asia Cup.
Allrounders Wasim Ali, Karan Sonavale and Jay Odedra and quick bowlers Shafiq Jan and Jiten Ramanandi have been drafted into Oman's World Cup squad.
While Ramanandi, Odedra and Wasim all played in the T20 World Cup qualifiers, Shafiq made his Oman debut in the Asia Cup Rising Stars, a competition even Sonavale was a part of.
Kaleem, among the players left out from the Asia Cup squad, was one of Oman's two half-centurions in the tournament and went on to play in the World Cup qualifiers, but has been omitted from the final squad.
Opener Jatinder is also their most experienced player and leading run-scorer in the format. He had missed out on making the squad in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup, but will now play this one as the captain.
Oman will take on co-hosts Sri Lanka, Australia, Zimbabwe and Ireland in Group B in the World Cup, with their first game against Zimbabwe on February 9.
