Toss Sri Lanka chose to bowl vs India
Sri Lanka captain
Chamari Athapaththu won the toss for the second time in a row this series and decided to bowl against
India in the fifth and final T20I in Thiruvananthapuram. India have already clinched the series 4-0.
Both teams made two changes to the XIs that featured in the fourth T20I. India handed a debut to wicketkeeper-batter
G Kamalini and brought back allrounder Sneh Rana in place of Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Singh. At 17 years of age, Kamalini was part of India's Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup triumph earlier this year. The left-hander was also Tamil Nadu's leading run-scorer in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy earlier this year, batting at the top of the order. Her tally of 297 runs at a strike rate of 110 was sixth best in the competition.
Harmanpreet Kaur said at the toss that India were prepared to bat again and wanted to finish the series on a high. Jemimah Rodrigues, who missed the previous game "due to weakness arising from mild fever", continues to be out of the XI with Harleen Deol slotting in at No. 3 in her place.
For Sri Lanka, left-arm spinner
Inoka Ranaweera and seamer
Malki Madara have returned to the side after missing the fourth match. Seamer Kawya Kavindi and offspinner Malsha Shehani were left out.
