A left-hand top-order batsman, Greg Todd began his first-class career with Central Districts straight after finishing school. He spent three years with the team before moving to Otago in 2004-05. Warren McSkimming, the Otago allrounder, had adviced Todd to make the shift as there were a couple of batting vacancies in Dunedin. Todd managed to get a contract and made an instant impression with his adopted team, scoring 552 runs. In 2007-08, he topped the run charts for Otago with 576. In that season, he smashed two centuries in a match, which he rates as his most memorable moment. Todd is also an occasional medium pacer.
