One of the best wicketkeepers in the women's game currently, Sinalo Jafta's glovework has usually been solid, and played its part in some of South Africa's best performances on the international stage in recent times. This was never more apparent than during the side's run to the final of the 2023 T20 World Cup final.

She is seldom in the spotlight, often batting lower down the order, but still a vital cog in a South Africa side that has become one of the best white-ball teams in the world. While they eventually fell short in the 2023 final, the runners-up medal was proof of Jafta's resilience. It came when she was 27, just four months after she had checked herself into rehab for alcohol abuse, with serious thoughts of quitting the game. Instead, she was entering her prime, while also fighting for greater attention to players' mental health in the face of online abuse and others stressors.

Her comeback is a success story of an individual's grit against unpleasant circumstances, but her decision to talk to the public about her struggles has also shone a light on structural issues in the women's game.
