All matches will be played at the Kai Tak Cricket Ground.
Commenting about the inclusion of Japanese players in the series, Hong Kong National Coach, Charlie Burke said "It is great to have some of Japan's best players in Hong Kong to play in the series as it will raise the standard of the competition and also allow our players to benchmark where they are at leading up to the Asian Games in which Japan is in our group." He added, "With minimal opportunities to play international matches it will also be great to have a Japan invitational side to play the Hong Kong Women on Sunday, 12th September."
In response, Japan National Women's Cricket Coach, Katrina Keenan said "Having recently won the EAP Trophy in May, against very competitive Samoan and PNG sides, the Japan Women's Cricket team will now compete in a Women's World Cup Qualifying event in Bangladesh in late 2011. In addition to this, the side is also currently preparing for its involvement in the Asian Games, to be held in Guangzhou in November of this year."
"With several key players involved in the Women's Elite Player Series in Hong Kong in September, it will give players an important match opportunity, against quality competition, in the lead up to these events," she added.
The Hong Kong and Japan Women's Cricket Teams last met in a three match series in Hong Kong during October 2008 with the Hong Kong Women prevailing 3-0 in a closely fought contest.
