7th ODI (D/N), Mumbai, Nov 11 2009, Australia tour of India
Match abandoned without a ball bowled

5.05pm Match has been officially called off. Shane Watson has been named Man of the Series, although there is no presentation ceremony on view. And if I hear correctly, Watson has left for Australia already. Thanks for being with us, see you with, well, next international action. Okay bye.

5pm Just when they removed the covers at the DY Patil, it started raining again. As good as over, I am afraid. Let's wait for the official word.

4.15pm Amodh: "I am just outside the stadium and it has stopped raining. It hasn't rained for past 15-20 minutes." But let me remind you, no inspection before 5pm Kendall from Australia, though, is looking for hope where there might not be much: "Hey Sharad...if you can see the roof-top of DY Patil Stadium clearly....then the drizzle cant be too bad then huh?

No offence intended...I just wanna see some play!"

4pm Sharad Agarwal has this update to give from Vashi, not too far from the DY Patil Stadium. "Just peeped outside my office building in Vashi from where I can see the roof-top of DY Patil stadium clearly. It's still drizzling."

3.22pm Arun Ganapathy trusts Divakar and asks a favour. "May I request Divakar to give an update at 4 p.m. as to whether there would be match today in his opinion. Am holding a ticket for the match but do not want to travel all the way (25 kms) to DY Patil Stadium if the match is to be abandoned."

3.10pm Divakar claims he lives near the DY Patil Stadium, and he has an update: "Well I am sitting on my rooftop and can see spectators chipping inside the stadium n DJ doin his bit.. Rain Stopped for 5 mins and it raised my hope..But now again drizzling.. it's like the rain gods have sumthing against us today.."

1.45pm It's wet wet wet in Mumbai, where the last ODI of this series is to be played. It has rained lots, and is still drizzling. News - rather damp one - is that there is no chance of play till 5pm, which is when the umpires will come out and inspect the ground. Provided it doesn't rain more. We'll keep you posted. Until then why not read some interesting stuff on Page 2:
