Scorecard
Bangladesh Under-19s' opening bowlers inspired a top-order collapse and successfully defended a respectable 231 for seven to win the third Youth ODI against Pakistan U-19 by 24 runs. Pakistan lead the five-match series 2-1.
Pakistan looked all set to restrict Bangladesh to a low score as they picked up the first three wickets with only 50 on the board. However, Bangladesh were helped by fighting half-centuries from Nasir Hossain and Mahmudul Hasan, as well as a generous serving of 22 wides and seven no-balls. Imad Wasim, Pakistan's captain, continued to impress with the ball and, though a little expensive, managed to pick up three wickets, including that of Hasan.
Pakistan's reply began on a disastrous note; they were reeling at 25 for 4 and, though Ahmed Shehzad (79) and Ali Asad (59) shared a 103-run fifth-wicket partnership, they were always struggling to match Bangladesh's total. None of the other batsmen, bar Wasim (27 off 35), provided much resistance as the home side collapsed to 207 in the penultimate over.
Pakistan will be hoping for a much-improved performance on Wednesday in order to clinch the series. The last match of the series will be played on Friday in Karachi as well.
