What an incredible game of T20 cricket! The Hurricanes looked gone for all money, but Shah and Birt fought back but fell just short at the finish line.
The win means the Hurricanes grip on first place isn't quite as tight, with the Perth Scorchers breathing right down their neck.
Man of the Match is the veteran Matthew Hayden, who held off strong competition from Birt and Shah. Thanks for your company, good night.
full on leg, drives hard to long on but picks the man out in the deep, a little more on that and it's over the rope. The Heat get the win!
yorker dug out back to the bowler, McDermott manages to field and runs Birt out at the bowler's end, and he celebrates in style, great knock from Birt
length on middle, swings hard over deep mid wicket, what a hit as he clears the man on the rope!
full toss on leg, flicked away through square leg for a boundary, what a game
bouncer, veryclose to a wide, but not called, gutsy from the youngster
flicked through square leg, they scurry back for two important runs
big shout for LBW but it looked to hit him just outside the line, perhaps, very close though
flicked through mid wicket
mistimes the pull shot through mid wicket
pulled through mid wicket
full toss outside off, smashes backward of point, he is timing the ball incredibly well at the moment Birt
