good length ball on off blocked out back to Hatzoglou for a tame end to play.
Scorchers vs Renegades, 17th Match at Melbourne, Dec 22 2021, Big Bash League
10.29 pm Renegades looked like they might pull off an outlandish win but Scorchers hold on by 21 runs in the end. Marsh's fireworks with the bat set up the Scorchers but just as importantly was the over he bowled just after the Power Surge when he took the wicket of Maddinson and conceded just two runs. Big momentum shifter and Scorchers were ahead of the game from that point on out.
Player of the Match is Mitchell Marsh: "Great win. We were really tested there. It was a great innings from Finchy. I thought 180 was about par so it was a great finish by us at the end. It was fun. I was just sticking to my processes and I love playing for the Scorchers. [Maddinson] was an important wicket. If we didn't get that, it was probably game over. I love playing for Scorchers and love playing in WA, but I also love not having four-hour flights."
That's it from our coverage today. Come back tomorrow for more action from BBL 11. I'm Peter Della Penna. Take care!
