2.30 pm The party's only starting today in Lauderhill, by the way. We have another mouthwatering encounter starting in 30 minutes. Join us there as we set up the scene for the match between Tridents and Tallawahs. We hope you enjoyed ESPNcricinfo's coverage of the second match of CPL 2017. And if you're joining us late, here's Peter Della Penna's match report. From Nikhil and Sreshth, it's goodbye.

2.27 pm Winning captain Chris Gayle: "happy to get over the line. We bowled well to restrict them to 123, fantastic job from the bowlers. Would've preferred doing better with the bat, but this is T20 cricket. Happy with the win. What's more important was getting the nerves out the way."

Losing captain Martin Guptill: "Not sure what went wrong, the wicket played a little differently, and we didn't adjust to it. We were in with a chance after Patriots were 57 for 5 and I did some errors as captain while we were bowling. "

2.22 pm Hasan Ali, on his CPL debut, is the Man of the Match. He says: "The pitch was a bit slow, so I was looking for dots, dots, dots. I try to bowl like Waqar Younis, like his aggression and his swing. Trying to copy the legend."

2.17 pm After ten overs of the second innings, it really did look like Guyana Amazon Warriors were on top courtesy a tight spell from Emrit. But, given how small a total Guyana were defending, all it took was a few lusty blows from Brathwaite to change the game's complexion once again. His useful 31, that came off 19 balls, eventually was the difference between the two sides today. Gayle starts off his Patriots captaincy on a very positive note. Hang around for comments from the two captains.

Tanvir to M Nabi, 1 run

full on middle stump and that's played towards the leg side by Nabi. Uses his wrists to direct the ball in front of square on the leg side. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots beat Guyana Amazon Warriors for the first time in five attempts. Gayle and Hafeez are delighted when the winning runs are hit. They high five each other

Packed infield now.

Tanvir to Carter, 1 run

full outside off and that's a good looking drive. Played off the front foot to mid off. Scores tied now

Tanvir to M Nabi, 1 run

good length on leg stump, clipped off his pads to the sweeper fielder on the leg side

Tanvir makes some field adjustments. Wants fine leg to be squarer

Tanvir to Carter, 1 run

good length just outside off stump, played with the bat's open face and helps the ball towards the deep point fielder behind square. The batsman employs soft hands

Tanvir to Carter, 2 runs

good length on middle stump, worked towards the empty spaces on the leg side, quick call for a double

Tanvir to Carter, FOUR runs

good length on middle stump and Carter pummels that to the leg side boundary. He swivels, pulls firmly and there's no one at the region behind square. Patriots all but home now

Rashid Khan to Carter, 1 leg bye

good length outside off stump, looks to drive that but plays down the wrong line. Finds the outside edge of the bat as the ball flies towards the point fielder. Quick single

Rashid Khan to M Nabi, 1 run

full on middle, driven

Rashid Khan to Carter, 3 byes

good length on middle stump and he brings out the reverse paddle sweep once again, but he misses the shot and the ball races past the keeper to the boundary behind them. Guptill gives it a chase from fine leg. Stops one run

Rashid Khan to Carter, no run

the batsman had no clue about that one, good length on middle stump and the ball takes off after pitching. He tries to cut the ball but misses it completely. A lot of spin

Rashid Khan to M Nabi, 1 run

good length on middle stump, the googly helps the right hander clip the ball off his pads towards mid wicket. Slight adjustment by the batsman to use the depth of his crease to play that

Rashid Khan to M Nabi, no run

mix up!, but he survives. full outside off and defended towards cover. The striker calls for a run and takes off but the non striker is not interested at all. Sends him back

short on middle stump and that smacks the batsman's helmet. It wasn't a particularly fast delivery but it was accurate. The batsman could not get away from the ball's trajectory as it smacked him flush on the head. The ball bounces dangerously near the stumps but does not hit the wicket. Three overs to go

Tanvir to M Nabi, 1 run

finds the outside edge but the ball races down to third man. Full and wide outside off and the shot, played away from his body, brings out the edge. No harm since there's no slip

Tanvir to Carter, 1 run

good length but wide outside off stump, frees his arms to cut the ball to the sweeper fielder

Tanvir to Brathwaite, OUT

shouts of 'catch it!' and the experienced Tanvir strikes. The danger man is gone and Amazon Warriors are still in it. Short on middle stump and the ball was rising this time. The batsman was not positioned well for the hoick on the leg side. Instead plops up into the air on the off side, where the mid off fielder comes a few steps forward and swallows that ball. A soft dismissal caused by the turning of Brathwaite's bat, induced by the slower delivery

Tanvir to Brathwaite, no run

full on middle stump, driven inside-out to the wide-ish mid off fielder

Amazon Warriors need to find somebody to break this partnership. Getting easier for Patriots with every passing delivery

Tanvir to Carter, 1 run

short outside off stump, not enough pace to trouble the batsman, he plays a late cut down to third man. Singles would do for Patriots at the moment

An expensive over from Emrit there. 19 off 24 now. It's Patriots' game to lose now. Tanvir's back
