what a shot to finish it. Murali has a wry smile on his face, but that is some way to finish the game. Advances and caresses the fullish delivery over long-on. Went way back too. Exemplary timing.
Warne’s Warr vs SRT Blasters, 2nd Match at Houston, Nov 11 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Warney's team complete a win and take the series with that but this match was all about the entertainment. Lots and lots of sixes. The spectators were treated to a display of run-scoring from Warn'e Warriors. Sachin's Blasters scored 200 runs off their own in the second innings but fell well short in the end. Warne will have temporary bragging rights over Sachin having sealed the series. Sehwag's stay was lovely but short and so were the rest of the top order until Pollock struck some lusty blows to reduce the margin of defeat. The bowlers were terrific and a special mention to Saqlain who was more than impressive. The players take a lap of honour, throwing signed cricket balls into the crowd. Both teams walking together, sharing some jokes and smiles all around.
Kumar Sangakkara is the Man of the Match: "It was a lot of fun, thank you Houston for the hospitality. Lot of credit to Sachin and Warney, they are pioneers on the field and they are breaking new round off the field. All outstanding players, legends of the game, crowd participation has been unbelievable. Players have given their all on the field. Participation of kids is vital for the growth of the game but for us, its been humbling. Hopefully the game catches on in the US."
Sachin tendulkar: "I think Sanga took the game away from us. 262 was a really big target. We were extremely poumped up, the wicket played beautifully. But we enjoyed it. We were unable to keep up the pace. 26-28000 people here, fantastic. Looking to forward to being in LA. The response has been magnificent in two matches, lets make it a hattrick."
Shane Warne: "We dreamt of having these many people, the way we have been treated has been fantastic. The fans have created a great atmosphere. Some special batting from some class players. Shows you what a good pitch it was. Sri Lankan people will be asking to see if we could get Sangakkara back. He played beautifully today. At the end of the day, it is nice to win but it isn't the case. The cricketing cliche of cricket is the winner stands out today, the outfield and roof was wonderful.
Bruce: "This cricket game completely looked a gentlemen's game. All smiles around irrespective of bouncers, wickets, win. No wild celebrations and respect for the opponents. Would love to see the same in international cricket too!"
slogged to midwicket
runs down, with a helmet. Full toss heaved to deep square leg
the double-card trick worked to perfection, the bouncer and the fuller delivery next up. Akhtar's feet are nowhere, he goes through with the heave though and straight to cover. What an entertaining stay that was from Akhtar
Akhtar has the helmet now
take that Shoaib, he isn't wearing a helmet. Symmo bounces Akhtar, completely befuddles both Akhtar and Sanga. Lots of smiles all around.
bright and breezy from Pollock. Nice fifty. Short outside off, he ends up dragging it, doesn't time it that well and that ball spoons up for Haydos to take at long-on
fifty for Pollock. He seems quite happy. What a shot. Flighted outside off, Pollock lays into this and creams this over long-off
Last over of the game but Warney's team will go 2-0 up
WATCH: How Saqlain tricked Sachin
shortish on middle, heaved with all his might to deep midwicket
and another. Wasim comes back over the wicket, full and angled away but Pollock hits that with the angle over cover
slower delivery on leg now, Pollock picks this up nicely and deposits this into the stands as well. Runs coming too late
another low full toss, Pollock lifts this nonchalantly into the stands over midwicket. Stood still and dispatched
overly full, not allowing Swann to get underneath the length, isnide-halved to square leg
full on leg, Pollock misses the nudge and is struck on the pads
full toss now on middle, juicy full toss and Swanny takes full toll. Launches this deep over long-on, hits a wall and comes back into the field of play
runs down and whacked over cover. Gets to the pitch nicely
Shaun Pollock has gone down in a heap. Not sure what is the reason. He is hobbling, he seems to be pointing towards the pitch, has he twisted something? He fights on though
slogged again towards deep midwicket after getting down
gets underneath and clubbed for six off the front foot, a bit of a slog but six
too short on middle and off, swung away to deep square leg for four
shortish on off, inside-edged to the pad
Sree: "I heard of the baseball game because of Lance Klusener. His sixes made me watch few baseball games too.. now he is playing cricket on baseball ground.. anything is possible"
slowish delivery on middle, all Pollock can do is hit this to long-on and take the single
Off a few feet he runs in
