full just outside off, dabbed at, edged and oh my goodness caught behind!!! Willey has a hat-trick, the match is finished with three in three and Northants have won the cup! What a catch that was by Murphy, diving away to his right hand side, claimed it inches from the turf, what a take and Willey has only the second hat-trick in a T20 final, after Ryan McLaren for Kent in 2007
Northants vs Surrey, Final at Birmingham, Aug 17 2013 - Match Result
This is Northamptonshire's first trophy since 1992. Everyone will be absolutely delighted for them, a small club with no money, they have turned themselves around with sheer bloody hard work and have won the Friends Life t20. Champagne all around and I might just raise a glass to them myself. Thanks for your company today, see you soon...
What an end, what a story and Northants have won by 102 runs what a hammering that is and is a fitting result for Northamptonshire who have stormed this competition from absolutely nowhere. Three wins from 27 T20 matches coming into this season, they found a formula and carried it through all the way to tonight. The final was absolutely brilliant. A fabulous brutal display with the bat and followed it up in some style with a hat-trick by David Willey to close out the win. He'll be the Man of the Match for 60 from 27 balls and 4 for 9, including that hat-trick.
Can the Man of the Match finish it in perfect fashion...
two in two! Lewis trying to play over the off side and gets it all wrong, just chips a catch to cover, a catch he could have taken in his sleep and Willey is on a hat-trick!
full length wide of off stump, swung hard and here's another for Willey, caught at deep cover totally mistimed and the fielder comes in a few yards to take a simple catch, a second strike for Willey and he has enjoyed a dream evening
Willey is back, can he finish the job...
length ball, Lewis stands in the crease and tries to push into the covers, misses and it bounces through to Murphy
Gary Wilson had developed a cult following having fielded in front of the Hollies Stand for much of the day, now he's out, the fans are off!
another slower ball, 66mph, swung across the line, misses and is cleaned up. A nice delivery and Wilson was miles away from it, Surrey sliding now
slower ball again, 70mph, goes to swing it over the leg side, misses, they take a leg bye to midwicket
full just outside off, dabbed down fine of third man for two
full and straight, swung at, it takes takes an inside edge onto pad and into the off side for one
slower ball just outside off, nicely bowled, deceives the batsman outside off stump
Richard: "Not even Chris Gayle could save Surrey now." It needs a touch more divine intervention than that. Crook is back on...
yorker-length just outside off, carved down to third man
slower ball that drifts past leg stump with Wilson advancing and trying to swing to leg
just back in length outside off stump, cut hard and gets it over the point fielder to wide third man
swung and missed outside off stump
slapped hard from a touch fuller length down to long-off
sliding across the off stump, goes to back cut and misses
Azharullah again...
slog sweep and finds the square leg rope, good strike
swung at outside off stump, thick edge to the 45
touch straighter, flicked through midwicket
back and goes to cut, misses
length ball, down the track and chipped over midwicket
