9.30pm Two days only and we've seen two such close chases, four centuries already, and a whole lot of entertainment. That's all we have from this game today, do join us tomorrow for another big game - it's India vs Pakistan - a day-nighter in Mount Maunganui, where West Indies beat New Zealand yesterday. And what's a close finish without some stats, from Sampath: Australia's 310 for 3 is the highest total in women's ODIs vs England and England's 298 for 8 is the highest total in women's ODIs vs Australia. On that note, it's goodbye from me, Vishal Dikshit, and Ekanth. Ciao!

vaneez saraswat: "Australia has not beaten england today the only difference between the two teams was the 25 extras given by the english as compared to 10 by the aussies"

Karthik : "Both Australia and England were at 295 at the end of 49th over.. but it was Perry's 14 runs from the final over made the difference here.. Hope cricinfo displays my comment.. "

Rose: "Very encouraging from an England perspective. Serious grit from Sciver @ co, we just need to restrict them to less than 310 next time and this is a winnable fixture"

Prashanth: "Extras made the difference between two teams"

caspian: "Almost a comfortable win in the end! Thanks Alice for that timely wicket. Jonasson with ice in her veins."

Meg Lanning: Nice to get a win first up, we expected a contest and got that. It was tricky to bat and get that 310. She (Jonassen) wanted the ball and she's got big overs for us before, I have full faith in her. She could have probably bowled a few more. We expected that at the halfway mark from them, we knew we had a good score but expected the fight as conditions got better to bat. We bowled well in parts but not entirely. She (King) bowled beautifully and changed the game for us. Rod and Shane are a big loss for us and for the game of cricket.

Heather Knight: For us as a batting unit that's a confidence-booster. The way we played to see the girls doing that, how aggressive we were, the way they ran, Sciver was outstanding. Lots of positives to take, it's not the end of the world. We had a really honest and open chat with the batters, to see them perform like that was really nice. Tammy was really good up the order. If we wnt to have a chance in this World Cup, we need such performances from Sciver, she's one of the best fielders as well and it was one of the best knocks from her. It didn't quite work out, I'm there as an option as well. Today we played seven batters, and I thought it was the best balance we've got. I'm not worried about the bowling unit, we'll get going into the next game. It was a great watch last night, today was a really good pitch as well. It's a good competition and good to see such close upsets.

9.10pm Another match with twin centuries and the team defending the total wins again, like yesterday. Australia's is more convincing though. the dejected England players come out to shake hands with the Australians, who are all smiles with their first win on the second day of the World Cup. Spare a thought for Nat Sciver, kept fighting and fighting till the end with regular boundaries through innovative strokeplay as wickets fell around her but she needed little more support. England shouldn't be dejected with this, they scored nearly 300 while chasing against a world-class side and bowled so very well earlier to their fields with discipline. The fielding in this World Cup needs a lot of work though, from nearly every team. Australia, too, put down some chances. Sampath tells me it's the second-highest total in a women's ODI chase

Rachael Haynes is the Player of the Match: I wasn't moving too well the last time around in an ODI. England were fantastic, they took the game to us, it's a lesson for us. England bowled exceptionally well, it was really hard to put them away with their exceptional fields, but nice to put up over 300, we needed every one of those. Initially it looked like 260-270 would be ok but then we though might as well get as many. Conditions seemed to get better as the game went on. I just try and score as many as I can and really good to bat along side some players who can take the pressure off.

Ankur baid: "What an extraordinary catch that is from Jess, that surely is game for Australia "

Jonassen to K Sciver-Brunt, OUT

it's a one-handed stunner from Jonassen! Pitched up in the slot, Brunt hammers it back towards the bowler and Jonassen sticks her left hand out towards the shoulder, her eyes can't even catch up with the speed of the ball but the ball sticks in her hand. She can't believe it either. Covers her face with her right hand to hide the smile
