tossed up, too full to sweep, and it hits him on the front pad. Raina has a loud appeal for lbw, not given
India vs Afghanistan, at Adelaide, Feb 10 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
9.30pm And that is it from us, folks. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Keep tuning in, keep sending in your comments. Until next time, ta ta!
"We'll have to wait and watch, depending on conditions," MS Dhoni says, about the combination of bowlers they used and whether that points the way to how India will go at the World Cup. "I wanted Jadeja and Ashwin to bowl their 10 overs, but I just wanted to use five bowlers in this game, and I needed Raina. I'm not a big fan of practice games, but a bit more time in the middle does help. Overall it has been quite good."
Venkat Nott: "Umesh, Mohit, Ashwin, Jadeja, Shami or Bhuvaneshwar is possibly Indias best bowling attack. Binny is good utility sometimes with bat and sometimes with ball... but does throw things off balance. Axars failure with bat means both Jadeja and Ashwin are better options. Ashwin should play all the games and bat up the order so that he adds value to the batting lineup instead of slog overs. Shami is inconsistent but bowls the finishing overs better. Its a tight call between him and Bhuvi. India did hv a bad triangular but dont write them off yet. "
R Ashwin says the legbreaks are "a part of what I'm doing. You can't be one-dimensional. Five fielders in the circle, people have to accept it. It's heartening to see Jadeja bowling 10 overs, and he's also batting well. He's been bowling and batting a lot at the nets."
9.25pm And that is India's first win on this long and arduous tour. It's not an official game, and it's not against one of world cricket's bigger sides, but they'll still feel reasonably good about themselves. Their batsmen shook off a poor start and made a 350-plus total, a few of them got encouraging runs, and while their bowling was fairly patchy, especially at the start, they got a good amount of yorker practice in at the death, and the spinners bowled pretty well too. India defended 240, like they set out to, even if they couldn't bowl Afghanistan out. A decent display by Afghanistan's top order, but the batsmen who came after didn't do too much.
