18.3 to S Samarawickrama, Catching practice to short cover. This was always coming. Samarawickrama was struggling to pick the flight of the spinners. He comes forward to drive it but this is not a surface to do that. Axar lands it on a length, and that means Samarawickrama is a tad early into the shot. Chips it uppishly to Gill and Sri Lanka lose another. 60/3 34.2 to J Liyanage, Axar and Rohit think they have their man. Liyanage is walking. Umpire Wilson waits, waits, and then raises his finger. 13.1 to BKG Mendis, Huge appeal for lbw, given! Dube strikes, after turning Mendis inside out. He had a word with Nissanka and signals to the umpire that wants to have a re-look. Runs in and bowls it on a length around off and middle. Mendis almost falls over while looking to defend it in front of him. His bat comes down at an angle, which makes it miss the outside edge. He gets hit on the back leg and the Hawk-Eye returns three reds. Maiden ODI wicket for Dube, in his first game in the format since 2019. 46/2 | ||||||||||

On a length and turns in sharply to beat the inside edge and strike the front pad above the knee-roll. No bat/glove involved. It would've clipped leg stump, so enough for umpire's call to be upheld. He sees midwicket open, and then spots a flighted ball just outside off. Goes for the slog across the line but skies it high. Mendis, with gloves on, runs towards cover where Hasaranga has come forward. The calling is not too clear and Mendis takes it with his hands high, just over Hasaranga's face. Wellalage strikes, can Sri Lanka capitalise now?. 75/1 14.2 to RG Sharma, Rohit misses the slog, trapped in front. He trudges slowly to his partner, who is not convinced about a review. Another tossed up full ball on middle from Wellalage, Rohit gets down on a knee to deposit it over the vacant midwicket. 15.4 to Washington Sundar, Hit on the back pad, given lbw! Washington and Kohli chat and he opts for the review. Quicker and fuller around middle, it is the offspinner. Goes straight on with the arm, Washington lunges to defend but it beats him on the inside to hit him on the back leg. Clipping the wicket and Washy has to walk back. 23.1 to V Kohli, skidder from Hasaranga, the umpire raises his finger. Oh boy, Hasaranga is overjoyed. Flat and quick, skids in to strike the pad as Kohli plays back to this length ball. Kohli has reviewed this. Kohli is walking even before the ball-tracking builds up. No bat involved. It would have crashed into middle. Jayasuriya is up on his feet, applauding Hasaranga and SL. 130/4 39.4 to KL Rahul, Hasaranga gets his man! The stubborn stand between Rahul and Axar is broken. A third India batter falls trying to hit spin across the line. Hasaranga generously tosses it up, full on middle, Rahul gets down on a knee to sweep it through midwicket again but skies it high. Wellalage barely had to move there and takes it comfortably. 189/6 44.3 to Kuldeep Yadav, Bowled him! Kuldeep is bamboozled here. Tossed up from around the wicket, lands it on off. It is the googly, but Kuldeep thought it is the other one. 40.5 to AR Patel, Asalanka is off, he has a massive wicket. Gets Axar nicking behind. What a timely strike. Tosses it up again, and lands it on a harmless line - well outside off - on a length. It spins away yet again. Axar feels for it and feather an edge. Do Sri Lanka have a massive opening here?. 197/7 47.4 to S Dube, LBW? The umpire stays unmoved. India cross over for a run. Darts it in on a length on middle and leg, Dube looks to defend but gets beaten on the inside and is hit on the front pad. Almost all three stumps visible, and it rolls away past the off stump. Three reds on Ball-Tracking and Sri Lanka are ecstatic! What a review, Colombo spectators getting their money's worth. 230/9 47.5 to Arshdeep Singh, Arshdeep swings across the line and falls! Asalanka darts it in on the stumps, he goes across the line for the slog and is hit flush on the back leg. The umpire raising the finger was a mere formality as Colombo roars.
