Dougie gets another wicket with the last ball, he makes room and has a swing, but the edge loops tamely back to Bollinger who takes it low to his left
What a game that was. Phew. This is Abhishek Purohit signing off for today. Join us for tomorrow's games. And thanks for the loads of feedback mails. I put up as many as I could. Cheers!
Albie Morkel is the Man of the Match. Morkel: "It is not easy to hit in the end overs, I started to practise last week, hitting balls in the middle from ball one. Lance Klusener is one of my idols, if I can be half the player he was, I'll be happy. With the ball, when there is a bit of swing around, I do well, but if it goes straight it gets a bit tough."
Dhoni: "Our bowling was ordinary to start off. It is not easy when someone is willing to give away his wicket and score runs. But we came back well, I am happy with the runs we put on the board. We always try to set up a platform because of which we are able to score lots of runs in the last 3-4 overs. Albie really finished the game well today. Lots of teams put emphasis in the last six, we look to capitalise on the last 4-5 overs. Even if me and Anirudha are not able to do it, Badri manages to do it in the end and ends up with a healthy strike rate. It is a long way to go still. This was a game when we went in the field we were a bit relaxed, we should not get relaxed so soon."
Sangakkara: "Sunny and Shikhar batted really well but we lost momentum in the middle. Chennai batted and bowled well and did the basics better than us. They got 15-20 runs more than we were looking at. We've got another six games, it only takes a little bit ti turn it around in T20."
Time for the presentation
Albie Morkel, the man with three consecutive sixes and three wickets: "It's not easy to come back from behind. They went hard at the new ball. We were definitely under the pump. Dhoni said a few hard words and the boys reacted well to that."
vikram: "A roof in chepauk should be named after albie morkel."
ishan: "@ Vibhu: not only selection, I think Sanga should have come at first down..."
Prashanth: "Dhoni's belief in Jakati paid off today.....match changing spell...gud stuff."
AR: "This is the advantage of having a captain made of steel and a team that knows each other like the back of their hands."
vibhu: "I hope sombody asks sanga about his team selection?.....i also believe that DC mgmt are looking for White to captain the team after sanga's departure otherwise he does not desearve a plan in the playing 11 given his form."
Praveen: "3 6's from Albie is the difference between two teams." The margin is 19, true.
Superb comeback from Chennai. They always find a way past seemingly hopeless situations. Not many sides would have come back from when Deccan were 71 for 0 in the seventh over.
nishath: "Both the citadels remain intact : Jaipur and Chennai :)"
gets this one over extra cover and comes back for the second run
beaten completely, backs away and pushes inside the line of a length ball that whizzes past
yorker on the stumps, Ishant digs it out, Raina charges in from extra cover for the pick-up-and-throw and collides with the non-striker rushing across for the single, who goes down on the ground makes it
it's all over, Christian has to go, Mishra charged and missed, christian wanted the bye, was nowhere in the picture when Dhoni found the stumps
looks to launch it down the ground, but is nowhere near the line of this one angled across him
JP departs, had to go hard at the length ball, there was no choice, did not connect well, Hussey was waiting at long on and took it comfortably, what a comeback from Chennai
wide one slanted full past the left-hander, JP can;t get to it, it isn't a wide as well
fuller one wide outside off, he gets forward to slap it down to long off
tries to help one from leg stump past Bollinger at short fine leg but does not time it well and it is cut off inside the circle
JP gets four, swings hard and gets the inside edge that rushes past short fine leg, Deccan will take it
Bollinger has been called back on to the field by the umps, apparently he had gone off earlier
White is gone, finally, could not get going at all, had to go for it now, Albie bowled it full way outside off stump, White went to slam it over long off but mistimed it high in the air, Raina was around running back from extra cover, but du Plessis, the substitute, had it covered, Raina let him know that it was his ball and Faf took an extremely well-judged catch in the end
JP gets the boundary, full toss from Dougie, and JP uses the angle to smash it well past the man at long on, timed it well too as it clattered in to the boundary
now this one is in the blockhole, tough, very tough to get away, and with White struggling for form, he just digs it out to extra cover
backs away like Sohal had earlier, but does not connect as Bollinger lets rip a pacy short one that bounces high over his blade
lovely slower one from Bollinger at 117.7 kph as he follows White who had backed away outside leg, pats it back to the bowler in the end, getting tougher and tougher for Deccan
lines him up for the swing over midwicket but hits the shortish one in to the ground
White walks two feet outside off stump, Bollinger follows him with a full delivery, and he hits it towards midwicket
srikar: "A personal request to duminy:- keep strike with you!"
Duminy shuffles and skips out to flick wide of long on for a couple, Deccan need more than that now
low full toss, but white cannot get it away, hitting it along the ground to long on
