2.2 to JL Smith, Castled! Gottim with an absolute peach. Hard length delivery attacking the stumps, he tries a massive swish across the line and makes a mess of his stumps. So both openers back in the hut, terrible start for Giants. Shaheen got a little bit of movement and that was enough to beat his defences. 7/2 16.2 to JM Cox, Cox looks to clear long-on and didn't get all of it! It's a low full toss on off and he mistimes it to James Vince who pouches it comfortably in the deep. That's an important breakthrough as he was the set man but just when he tries to switch gears, he has mistimed it and gone for 32. 124/5 18.2 to CJ Jordan, That one hung in the air for a while and he took the bait, went early through the shot down the ground and loses his wicket. Jordan gets deceived by the slower one that was angled across, Alex Hales took a juggling catch in the deep so third wicket for Shaheen who is having a terrific outing in his first game for Vipers. 146/6 | ||||||||||

1.6 to JM Vince, Vipers draw first blood! He was going nowhere with this innings. Pace on delivery on a slightly shorter length outside off, he went for the pull looking a bit ungainly, easy catch down the leg side for Munro and Amir celebrates with a fist pump. 6/1 | ||||||||||

12.1 to CA Lynn, Miscues the skier and Azam hangs onto it brilliantly. Pace off delivery does the trick. He goes for a big swing but is early through the shot, gets the toe-end and Azam times the forward lunge to perfection. 96/3 | ||||||||||

15.4 to SO Hetmyer, vociferous appeal for a caught behind but the umpire thinks otherwise. Colin Munro opts to take the review. Nicely tossed up and spun away a tad from outside off, he was trying to pummel it across the line, there is a little spike on the snicko so the on-field decision needs to be changed. Hetmyer has already left the crease. Vital breakthrough and it's that man again who has a knack of picking wickets. 122/4 | ||||||||||

2.3 to C Munro, Miscues the skier! On a length and nibbling away across off, Cox at deep backward point takes a superb running catch and lunged forward to gobble it up, Giants have got the big fish early in the piece, he struggled to find his timing on this occasion and got the height but no distance. 14/1 15.4 to AJ Hose, Lovely grab by Smith! Loses his shape as he tries to tug it behind square, ends up gloving it to the keeper and it's time for a strategic timeout. Giants hang by a thread, they need to create more panic to make it interesting. Vipers are in a relatively comfortable position and the asking rate isn't really taxing. 6.6 to AD Hales, Picks out deep square who takes a stunning catch very close to the rope and he made sure he did'n't make contact with the rope as the ball swirled away from him. A nothing shot from Alex Hales. Touch short on middle, goes for a pull and got the elevation but not the distance, crucial breakthrough for Giants, so far the innings has been pretty similar to Giants who were also struggling early on and found it tough to adjust to the double paced nature of the pitch. 41/2 12.3 to PW Hasaranga, Drakes gets his man! It's a massive breakthrough! His 42-run blistreig comes to an end as he larrups this full ball outside off to long-off where Usman Khan reverse cupped it safely into his hands.
