The Dambulla Giants will have a lot of thinking to do after that performance, as they were simply unable to muster anything by way of a contest against a Jaffna Kings side that came out and executed their plans perfectly.

With the ball, Thisara Perera marshalled his bowlers well, constantly switching things up. In Hasaranga, Theekshana, Lakmal and Seales, the Kings certainly have a shout at one of the best bowling line-ups in the tournament too.

But in truth, the Giants made it easy, rarely if ever making the bowlers second guess their plans, while far too many dismissals were of the soft variety. Perhaps they should have heeded how their innings fell apart to an extent after the fall of Dickwella and Salt in their previous game.

With the bat, the Kings again had a clear plan and in Avishka Fernando and TKC they had the perfect attacking duo to follow through on it, while some big hitting by Malik at the end provided a warning for the rest of the tournament. The ease with which they found the boundaries also highlighted just how well the Kings had bowled earlier in the day, but also how poor the Giants had been in asserting themselves - 58 dot balls speaks volumes.

All in all a great comeback win for the Kings after their horror show in the opening game. The Giants will want to put this behind them fast.
