that's it. Australia sweep the series 3-0. A fullish length delivery on off, the ball moves away and takes the outside edge. Flies towards gully who takes a comfortable catch. That is Pakistan's 12 Test loss in a row in Australia
Australia vs Pakistan, 3rd Test at Sydney, Jan 03 2017 - Ball by Ball Commentary
3.10pm Australia celebrate with each other, line up and shake hands with the Pakistan players. It has been a series thoroughly dominated by the hosts, Pakistan were good for chunks but not long enough to trouble the Australians. It's been a sensational series, good proper Test cricket. You often get such series' when two proud sides clash against each other. Australia just had more with contributions from almost all quarters, something Pakistan struggled with as the series wore on.
Presentation time.
Steven Smith is the Man of the Series: "These last three, that's what we're about, we want to score big runs, bowl well, we've held our catches. All the bowlers have done a terrific job. A lot of credit to Pakistan, they'e played some very good cricket this series."
David Warner is the Man of the Match: "A fantastic comeback, it was Hobart that kicked it off. Unfolded into a comprehensive 3-0 whitewash. Always fun to come out in front of your home crowd.
Misbah-ul-Haq: "It was a tough series, credit to Australian side. Outplayed us in every department. Utilised the conditions very well. A lot of youngsters in our team performing. That experience will lift them. Some good positives. The way we played at the Gabba gave us self-belief. We were really hurt in the MCG, difficult to take, you get demoralised by those sort of defeats. Overall, a lot of positives for Pakistan. A great place to learn a lot as an Asian side."
Steve O'Keefe: Fourth Test, my first win. Set up by the batters, I'll enjoy the moment. Coach Lehmann summed it up well, stay patient and you'll get lucky on a fifth day surface. A great sense of synergy among the guys. Worked really hard on my fitness. I'm hungry and thirsty, just want to get back in the sheds."
Peter Handscomb: "The crowd has been amazing all day. The two spinners worked really well in tandem today. It feels amazing, I've been luck to get in a series in my home turf. Takes a lot to get Wadey off the ground, for him to go off was a shame, but it wasn't too bad although I missed a couple (with the gloves).
Mitchell Starc: It's been tough work but that's what Test cricket is. Fantastic effort through the series. We've come through the ranks together, Josh has been awesome. Allowed me to bowl fast and be aggressive from the other end. Test match for Australia, you find a way to get up."
full delivery outside off, some away swing. Imran tries to replicate Sarfraz's sweeps in the previous over. Unlike Sarfraz, he's nowhere near
slow outside off, Sarfraz gets down and hammers his sweep way over the midwicket boundary for six, Sarfraz has 72 off 70 balls
darted in on leg, whipped over square leg for four more. Nicely played. Just a flick of the wrists
slogged away through square leg for four. Got down, saws the field was up and found the gap
Long-on and deep midwicket come up
swept to deep square leg for a couple
Sarfraz backs away well before delivery stride. Lyon sticks to the off-stump line. But that back away gives him enough room to lace his cut through point
short and wide outside off, carved to point
slow through the air, plenty of flight. Imran swings with all he has, misses connection
A silly point comes in
short and wide outside off, cut to point
Imran Khan. Australia one away from a whitewash
and that is run-out. Amir went after a run, Sarfraz sent him back, but Amir was still looking at Sarfraz. He finally makes his way back but it's way too late. Tossed up delivery outside off, driven towards cover. O'Keefe runs in, picks up with his left hand and returns a lovely throw to Wade by the stumps who does the rest with time to spare. Didn't hear a call either.
generous flight outside off, Amir leans forward and says take this with a lovely flowing drive through cover
shorter and slower outside off, pushed to cover
Around the wicket
nice flight, driven between mid-off and cover for one
Steven Smith will have an over before the new ball
Osman Samiuddin and Melinda Farrell are as excited about #PoliteEnquiries as the SCG crowd is about the substitute fielder Mickey Edwards. Tweet us with the hashtag

Mark: "If it's "tough to explain" and you are trying to explain away frame lag etc then surely that speaks to doubt. Part of the problem is umpires trying to decipher technology that they probably have very little skill with. There is no such thing as 'exact' technology. Everything works within tolerances, probabilities and margins of error. If an umpire has several things (hot-spot, lack of noise, lack of deviation) that don't show an edge and just one thing that 'may' indicate an edge then I'd suggest that is 'evidence' that would never stand up in a court."
87 kph, flat on off, Amir strides forward to block
driven up to long-on for a run
Dion: "Heard somewhere that the noise is often delayed on Snicko if the batsman has made a large stride because of the distance of the noise from the stump mike. Michael Slater on channel 9 also just said that the hotspot has been found not to show up on hot days "
