Perth rain washes out opening day

Not a ball was bowled nor the toss even attempted as Western Australia and Queensland were frustrated by a rained out day on of the Sheffield Shield match at the WACA ground.

Both sides are in the hunt for the competition final but will now have to manufacture a result inside three days, after attempts to start were repeatedly stymied by recurring showers in Perth.
