and that's what he does. Wrong'un straightens from middle stump at a good length. Ngidi looks for the slog again and he's struck in front of off stump
8:27pm And that's all from Nikhil, Ranjith and me today. We, of course, have plenty of analysis and press conference stuff to follow. So keep your eyes out for those and if you're in the Indian subcontinent, don't forget to head to our homepage and catch all the highlights on either side of the scorecell. Good night!
Kohli: Well the tour didn't start of too well but I knew I had to come in and get stuck in for us to compete in every game. Feels very good that it's coming off in winning causes. It started off with good pace and bounce. The new ball was hitting the bat nicely with pace. It was a drastic change after the 30th over and we immediately chopped down out target from 330 to 280-290. You're always looking for someone to get bat till the end and it's amazing if you do it as the captain. Another good partnership with Shikhar and a good stand with Bhuvi in the end as well. I was cramping towards the end but knew I had to stay till the end to get us 300. These are the times you're tested mentally as well as physically. [The spinners] We wanted to give them the pressure of defending today and it worked out. The intensity will be more in the fourth game because we can't lose this series anymore. I'm sure they'll come all guns blazing so we want to close that door.
Virat Kohli is the Man of the Match.
Markram: Everything is disappointing about this. Yet again not up to the mark. we've got ourselves to blame, have to try harder. I felt when we're in the field we were in. We managed to claw our way back and restrict them to 303 which I though was chaseable. Unfortunately we didn't take it deep enough and you don't win a match like that. We've come across them [spinners] and after all that time if we're still struggling to pick them, it speaks of their quality. It's a bit about that and about confidence as well. [About AB returning for the 4th ODI] I'd love it! I think that would spur the guys on.
Ishan Jain: "SA lost a wicket every over from over 36 to 40. They are looking totally trapped by these two talented spinners, things looking dark for the home side."
Sdtm: "I can't understand this SA batting none sense. Surely they knew what was coming their way in form of wrist spin. It's a shameful way of preparing and only relying on AB and FAF. Kudos to India they know what their doing. From a disgruntled SA fan in Germany. "
Nisarg Chokshi: "Once again, SA bow down to the wrist spinners, who take 8 wickets among them. I can hardly remember any other left-arm, right-arm wrist spinner duo causing havoc to the opposition."
Jas Goria : "Indian spinners again proving to be a curse for SA. Again 8 wickets for Indian spinners taking the tally to 21 wickets out of 28 total. Great performance. "
8:07pm India have gone 3-0 up. Firdose's match report will land soon, but in the mean time, you could read the one from the second ODI and the story won't be too different. South Africa folding against the spinners yet again. If last match was an eye-opener, this match is a proper low. Yet again, they have come nowhere near answering India's spinners. A 124-run win. This time, Kuldeep helps himself to career-best figures. All set up by another glorious Kohli innings - 160 not out from the Indian captain when they looked in some trouble of their own through the middle.
Dhoni tells Kuldeep to bowl the googly from the stumps
oh yes. Ngidi is a fast learner. Nails the slog as this length ball comes into him from outside off. Finds the midwicket boundary on the bounce.
Goes around the wicket
googly at off stump, beaten as he looks to defend on the front foot
first runs in ODIs for Ngidi. It's a chip over mid-off, although it was meant to be more. Full toss outside off and he just clears the fielder
googly, full at off stump. Gets the front leg across and swings for the roof. Beaten
length at middle stump, struck on the pad as he pushes on the front foot
Kuldeep's back. He's got a three-for in his last four innings now.
googly strikes him on the pad as he looks to flick. Deflected into the off side
oooooooooo buh bye! Rabada shows his mates how to hit the slog sweep! Whew. Cannot hit it better. Length ball on middle and he gets under it quickly to send it several rows back over midwicket
another heave, another top edge. Length ball floated up at off stump. Goes for the old slog sweep and it hangs up for Kohli in the wide mid-on area. He takes with a reverse cup
length outside off, swings across the line and is beaten
tossed up on off stump, steps out and hits him straight over the bowler. Nicely done
back of a length on middle, nudged through square leg
Pradeep D: "? = Pandey" ---- Yes, apologies, we've had a technical error.
length outside off, spins away from the bat after drawing him forward
leading ledge as he looks to flick this googly. Lands short of point
tossed up outside off, reaches it on the full and slices it behind square
his response is to go the other way and cover those two stumps this time. Kuldeep floats it outside off and wide from him. The loop beats him as he goes across the line and another top edge is taken easily at extra cover
not picked again. Wrong'un. Phehlukwayo gets adventurous on the back foot, exposing two of his stumps to try and cut. Just gets the bat down to survive
Slip goes to gully now
length at off stump, brings down a big swing with the reverse sweep and gets it wide of backward point
inside edge past leg stump and well wide of leg gully. Looks to get forward outside off again and drives with a big gap
back of a length at middle stump, punched to long-on off the back foot
