Jess Jonassen, Brisbane Heat captain: "Our fielding was under-par tonight. A few good ones, especially with Jess Kerr taking that one-hander. It is pleasing to see Wyatt with back-to-back fifties and sets the tone for us at the top. When Laura Harris fires, there are not many who want to send the ball down to her. It was a tricky wicket at times. Anything pace on, fuller length, it was easier to score. Anything short, it was tough. The outfield looked like it was going to be fast but it was not. [Rivalry against Strikers] You take it as you must and if any team talks about our camp, we are happy they are focusing on us. We back every person in our side. Whether it is arrogance, I am not sure, it is about the confidence in our side."

That's all from Gnasher and me for tonight! Do join us for the Strikers-Heat Challenger tomorrow. Until then, take care and good night!

Player of the match, Laura Harris: "I think my job is pretty much to go hell for leather anyway. At 70+ in ten overs, it put us in prime position to take the Surge. I am not a huge highlights person. There were a couple of tweaks ahead of this game and it paid off. We felt like we haven't played a 20-over game for a long time. But we came today looking like it was going to be a whole game. [Quick turnaround] We talk about it not being the easiest of seasons in terms of travel and draw. But if you can't perform now, what are you doing?"

9:44pm Heat will face Strikers at the same venue tomorrow in the Challenger. A comprehensive win for them today at the Karen Rolton Oval. There was hardly a doubt once Heat posted 179 on the board. But Lee and Villani got off to a smooth start. As long as Lee was in the middle, Hurricanes looked to be in it. But once the openers were dismissed, the chase fizzed out. Jonassen stood out with a four-fer while Amelia Kerr and Sippel were impressive, too.

Looking back, how important was that Laura Harris burst, especially in the Power Surge? Helped Heat score 36 in those two overs, with a 14-ball 44. Heat were also helped by Wyatt, who hit a quick half-century opening the batting.

Jonassen to Trenaman, 1 run, OUT

Fires it quick on a length on middle and leg, she heaves it towards deep backward square leg. Trenaman was just taking a single but seeing her partner she rushed back for the second but fell well short. Heat win by 44 runs.

Jonassen to Trenaman, SIX runs

Smoked well over deep midwicket! Angles it in on a length, Trenaman gets down on a knee and slogs it high and long.

Jonassen to Smith, 1 run

Fuller and quicker around middle, she comes down the track and hits it to long-on.

19.3
Jonassen to Smith, no run

Flatter and quicker on a length around off, Smith ends up chopping it to the off side. A mild appeal for lbw... was it pad first? JJ opts for the review. No pad at all, it was all gloves! Heat have a laugh now.

Jonassen on a hat-trick and she will bowl to Amy Smith. Can she get the treble? A slip in.

Jonassen to Gibson, OUT

Tossed up outside off, Gibson takes a step forward and looks to slog it across the line. Misses and Redmayne whips the bails. Gibson walks and has been given stumped straightaway!

Jonassen to Jensen, OUT

Floated full and outside off, Jensen connects with the slog but finds Wyatt at the deep midwicket boundary. This time no mistake from here and just has a glance at the ropes after catching that.

Hayley Jensen c Wyatt b Jonassen 2 (3b 0x4 0x6 5m) SR: 66.66

Jonassen to close it off.

Amelia Kerr to Graham, OUT

Almost makes a mess of a straightforward catch, does Grace Harris, before hanging on after a couple of juggles. Tossed up outside off, Graham hits it straight down long-off's throat. GHarris was also mic-d up at the time and said, "don't know what happened there!"

Cover gets to her right, dives full length but only manages to get a hand to it. It is a dropped chance, eventually. Trenaman chipped it aerially through mid-off but Voll charged to her right and put in a good effort.
