2.10pm Right then, business as usual resumes as far as Test cricket in India is concerned, with the home side dishing out a thrashing. West Indies were run rugged, and will want to come back stronger in Delhi. For Shubman Gill, 2025 continues to get better as he continues to grow his laurels as Test captain. India will want to complete a sweep in the national capital. For now, that's all from this Test. As we go, I'll leave you with this stat courtesy Namooh Shah. On behalf of Ashish, Ekanth, Chandan and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo, it's Abhimanyu signing off.

Most POTM for India in Tests

14 - Sachin Tendulkar

11 - Ravindra Jadeja

11 - Rahul Dravid

1.57pm Time for the presentation ceremony.

Ravindra Jadeja is the player of the match. Here's what he has to say: "I've been working hard on my batting. We had two months off, there was no Test or ODi cricket so I was working on my fitness and went to the CoE in Bengaluru to work on my fitness and batting. I've been batting at No. 9, 8 until few years ago but now I have my number at 6 so I can prepare myself and pace my innings. As a spinner you get more turn and bounce [on red soil pitches] so I was happy when we got to know that it's a red soil pitch, for batting and bowling. [On being named vice-captain] Obviously, I would like to thank coach, captain and management. As VC, you are always there as a special member. Whenever the team requires anything I am always there and happy to do it. [On leading the spinners now] I'm still not captain, Ash was there [chuckles]. Kuldeep has also played a lot of games. Everyone has experience and working hard so I don't need to go give unnecessary advice."

India captain, Shubman Gill: "Six [tosses] losses in a row, but as long as we keep winning the matches, it doesn't matter. Honestly, I think this was the perfect game for us. Three centuries, and we fielded really well so no complaints. Whenever you get a start, I think it was a pretty good wicket to bat on and we both got starts but couldn't convert, but we are happy for the centurions. [On managing three spinners] When you got quality spinners like that it's difficult to rotate, but it's better to have too many options than too few but that's the challenge and fun of playing in India. Good thing is there's always someone ready to make a difference. Over a period of two years, how we bonded as a team and how we got out of tough situations was really pleasing for me to see. We are still a learning side and as long as we keep learning it's on the positive side."

West Indies skipper Roston Chase: "Obviously when you win the toss and bat and get bowled out for 162, it's going to be tough to come back from that and it's not the kind of performance we were looking forward to. We have to bat better, especially in India you have to put up a big first innings total on the board with the ball spinning and pitch deteriorating as the game goes on. [On the toss decision] No problem with the decision, everybody wanted to bat first. There was some moisture but we had to play past that. [On delaying the second new ball] I didn't think the timing was off. I think when we did take it, we didn't make the batsmen play enough. We needed to test them more. Batting is the main problem. Batsmen needed to form partnerships and we didn't even get a fifty-run stand and in cricket you need partnerships, whether you're batting or bowling."

Sampath with a stat that highlights just how important Jadeja has been for India:

Most times scoring a century and taking a four-plus wickets haul in same Test match:

5 - Ian Botham

4 - Garry Sobers

4 - R Ashwin

4 - Ravindra Jadeja

Mohammed Siraj: "It feels very good, we get two days off in this heat. There were good contributions from everyone in both departments so it's great. Yeah in the second innings the wicket slowed down, so it was fun [to take three wickets]. [On India's batting] Everyone took responsibility, so it feels good. Especially because of the way KL Rahul continued his form from England."

Here is Shubham with a stat that will be worrying for the visitors.

89.2 overs - Ahmedabad, 2025

98.5 overs - Rajkot, 2018

101.1 overs - North Sound, 2019

102.2 overs - Mumbai, 2013

1.45pm The match ending before tea on the third day in Ahmedabad highlights just how much India have dominated this match. After the nightmares of the New Zealand tour, India are back at home and back to winning ways at home. Shubman Gill wins his first home Test as captain, on the day he is set to be announced as India's new ODI captain. For West Indies, there were many questions before the Test, and those questions will only grow louder after it. The batters couldn't put up a fight and their bowlers didn't challenge India's batters nearly enough.

Kuldeep to Seales, OUT

And that, will be that! Tossed up full and Seales can only offer a simple return catch that bounces off Kuldeep's chest and he grabs it on the second go. No five-for for Jadeja, but it's been a superb effort form him and Kuldeep and Siraj. India win by an innings and 140 runs

Jadeja to Seales, SIX runs

What a start from Seales! That could very well have been hit by a top order batter! Full outside off and spinning in and Seales gets down on a knee and slogs this over midwicket into the stands!

Jayden Seales, who bowled his heart out without much reward for West Indies, will now come out to try and extend this Windies rearguard. Jadeja, meanwhile wants his five-for

42.1
W
Jadeja to Layne, OUT

Up in the air, and taken! Jadeja has his fourth as Layne's fun comes to an end. Tossed up around off and it spins away so it takes the toe end as Layne looks to go down the ground. Ends up skying it and Siraj settles underneath it from mid-off
