100.3 to SP Narine, beauty, Boult hits top of off stump with a good length delivery that barely holds its line, just enough to beat Narine's defensive push. 307/8
28 | 3 | 79 | 4 | 2.82 | 125 | 9 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
31.3 to KC Brathwaite, there is the breakthrough, soon after lunch, it is another short ball that does it, Brathwaite tries to ride the bounce, he hops, but only ends up half-steering, half-fending it straight to gully. 77/2 33.4 to KA Edwards, New Zealand think there is a nick through to the keeper here. Edwards withdrew his bat from the line of another one straightening late outside off stump, but there was a sound as ball passed bat. New Zealand review after umpire Llong remains unmoved. Faintly registers on Snicko, though there does not seem to be anything on HotSpot, but the sound and Snicko combine to have Edwards sent back. 78/3 95.4 to DJG Sammy, Southee does it early in the morning, the outswinger has been coming out superbly for him, this is close enough to off for Sammy to play at it, but it also kicks from a good length, and moves away to take a thin edge through to the keeper. 296/7 105.3 to V Permaul, and as quickly as it began it comes to an abrupt end as Permaul, looking for quick runs, edges a full delivery outside off to second slip, with two-metre Peter completing the catch to his right. 332/9
21 | 4 | 67 | 1 | 3.19 | 97 | 11 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
16.3 to KOA Powell, Wagner decides to drop this one short as Powell, who looks to have lost some concentration, goes for the ramp, with the ball getting a feather-like edge off the surface of the bat to carry behind to the keeper. First wicket down for the West Indies, and Wagner is over the moon. 41/1
19 | 3 | 47 | 3 | 2.47 | 85 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
34.2 to MN Samuels, atrocious stroke from Samuels at this stage of the game, he's flayed this length delivery without moving his feet, and the thick edge has flown to gully, where Williamson has held on second attempt. 82/4 36.6 to N Deonarine, oh dear, another one down, West Indies are managing to collapse even on this slow pitch, Deonarine has tried to work this length delivery square to the leg side, but missed it, and is caught in front of middle, umpire Gould gives it out, West Indies review, ball tracker shows it just clipping top of leg, that is all New Zealand need. 86/5 86.5 to D Ramdin, full and just outside off as Ramdin gets his bat down on it, and it looks as if the ball hit the edge and flew to first slip, who takes it on his second attempt. The umpire checks in with the square leg umpire, before deciding to go upstairs. The NZ fielders are positively adamant they have their man. Replays show that the ball indeed hit the ball and went full to the keeper. Ramdin is out after posting a fine 107. This wicket should definitely bolster NZ hopes.. 286/6

116.2 to TL Best, and with just a few minutes to lunch Best, going for yet another heave through midwicket, goes early through his shot as this ball is delivered at 78 kph. Watling ends up taking a fine catch off the deflection to end the session a little early. 367/10 |

108.2 to LRPL Taylor, Taylor is out, only for the second time in the series, seven runs short of 500, as he cuts a short and wide ball in the air and straight into the hands of third man. 306/7
23 | 8 | 69 | 2 | 3.00 | 111 | 8 | 2 | 0 | 2 | |
5.2 to HD Rutherford, Sammy's produced the breakthrough, Rutherford's tried a powerful drive again, but he's hit it straight back to the captain, who bends in his followthrough to take a low catch, they check replays, but Sammy's absolutely fine. 18/1 100.6 to BJ Watling, Sammy strikes with the second new ball, full, widish, Watling attacks it, it swings away a tad and takes a thick edge through to the keeper. 269/6
35 | 6 | 103 | 1 | 2.94 | 153 | 9 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
88.2 to CJ Anderson, and Permaul strikes against the run-of-play as Anderson looks for the heave through midwicket, but hits it square as Deonarine, at deep square leg, takes a low catch to dismiss the left-hander. That one seemingly came out of the blue as New Zealand are now five down. 224/5
42.3 | 17 | 91 | 6 | 2.14 | 214 | 15 | 0 | 0 | 1
21.3 to PG Fulton, this one is heading down the leg side as Fulton, looking to keep this down, ends up flicking this uppishly to Darren Sammy, at leg slip, who is able to take a high reflext catch. What reaction times from the West Indian captain. 43/2 55.3 to KS Williamson, full and outside off as Williamson presses a long way forward to defend this. The ball turns in and is hit in line, with Narine going up for the appeal. The umpire has a think before giving it out. Williamson immediately reviews the decision, and replays show that it was indeed clipping the leg stump. Williamson goes for a well-played 58 off 148 balls.. 138/3 71.1 to BB McCullum, Sammy is in unbelievable catching form, and the ball is following him, McCullum's made room and hacked a cut at this huge offbreak, and the thick edge has rocketed high to slip, where Sammy's tall frame and bucket hands stop it as if is the easiest thing to do, poor stroke from McCullum, given the ball had spun and bounced in on middle. 174/4 109.3 to TG Southee, that looks close, and is given immediately, Southee caught half forward to an offbreak, rapped on the knee roll, replays show that hitting middle and off, and it is umpire's call for point of impact, just on the line of off, and Southee has to go after the review. 317/8 113.2 to IS Sodhi, deceives Sodhi with one pitched outside off that turns in quite a bit as Sodhi plays outside the line, and gets bowled through the gate. Nine down now as West Indies look to contain New Zealand under their first-innings total. And that's a five-for for Narine. 332/9 117.3 to N Wagner, goes for another wild slog through midwicket as Narine gets his sixth wicket, with Edwards taking a safe catch at mid-off. 349/10

4.1 to KC Brathwaite, right through him, Boult's inswing has started to work its charm again, Brathwaite drives at a full delivery, nothing more than half forward he is, and leaves a big gap between bat and pad for the ball to move in and strike off. 12/1 4.6 to KOA Powell, super catch, and Boult has two in an over, pitched up delivery, angled in, then holding its line, Powell pushes from the crease, thick edge flies very low to third slip's left, Southee's the man, snaps it up for his new-ball partner. 12/2 8.1 to KA Edwards, oh dear, what a way to add to all the trouble your team is in, Edwards has managed to tickle a good length ball down the leg side, and Watling dives to take it gleefully, umpire Llong gives it after confirming with umpire Gould if it carried, and HotSpot confirms the inside edge. 13/3 28.5 to D Ramdin, fuller length ball which looks in line of the stumps as Boult thuds this into Ramdin's front foot. There doesn't look to be any bat on it, with HotSpot not showing any edge off the bat. This could be overturned here. And replays confirm that this was indeed hitting the wicket, and would you believe it, West Indies are now seven down, as the first-innings hero has to return back to the pavilion for 18. 91/7
8.5 | 5 | 12 | 3 | 1.35 | 48 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
31.1 to DJG Sammy, Southee gets this full just outside off as Sammy is forced to play a shot, with the ball getting a thick outside edge on its way to the keeper, who takes a safe catch. Southee moves to 99 Test wickets and West Indies are in real deep doo doo with eight down. 103/8 31.3 to V Permaul, full and on the stumps and I can not believe it myself as Permaul reluctantly walks off, and Southee has to wait just one more delivery before he gets to his 100 Test wickets. Another full delivery on middle which Permaul plays all around of. West Indies are now nine down, with Best to come in to, well, do his best.... 103/9 31.5 to TL Best, slips in one on a good length on the pads as Best fails to get a bat on it. The umpire thinks about it and then raises the finger, much to the jubilation of the NZ fielders. Best calls for the review and replays show that this one is indeed hitting the leg stump, and Best is on his way.. 103/10
6 | 0 | 22 | 1 | 3.66 | 26 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
16.3 to MN Samuels, another one goes, Anderson gets the line right, standard left-armer's good length ball, couple of feet outside off, Samuels pokes absolutely needlessly from the crease, and nicks it through to the keeper. 40/4
7 | 1 | 34 | 2 | 4.85 | 30 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
17.5 to S Chanderpaul, and NZ get the Big Kahuna as Chanderpaul once again edges to the slips, and on the third time they are not going to make a mistake as Kane Williamson, at second slip, takes a blinder low to his right to remove the doughty left-hander. 46/5 25.2 to N Deonarine, and New Zealand strike again as Wagner gets Deonarine to edge this behind to Ross Taylor at first slip, which leaves West Indies now six down, and the tail has opened up. 75/6 |

12.4 to PG Fulton, and just like that Sammy claims the first wicket of the morning as Fulton lazily hits this right back to Sammy, at a height which allows the captain to pluck it comfortably. Fulton goes for 10, but seems to be a case of being a little bit too late for the West Indies. 33/1
