In mid-July, Zimbabwe became the first Full Member to be suspended by the ICC for failing to ensure no government interference in the running of cricket in the country. This decision came after the Sports and Recreation Commission, governing organisation of all registered sporting associations in Zimbabwe, suspended the elected Zimbabwe Cricket board and its acting managing director.
