Steven Smith blow brings cricket to a standstill
After a sickening blow from Jofra Archer that rekindled some awful memories, Smith returned to complete his innings after passing concussion testing, but subsequent testing showed his condition had deteriorated, and he became the first cricketer to be formally substituted under the new concussion protocols. Smith had been having a terrific Ashes till then, reminding Ian Chappell a little of Don Bradman in 1930.
