The Australian cricket team will attend the first official event at Melbourne's City Square on Monday 14 August.
All members of the 13-man squad and the team's management, in Melbourne in preparation for Super Challenge 2000, the one-day international series against South Africa at Colonial Stadium, have accepted the Lord Mayor's invitation to take part in the public event at lunchtime.

The three matches which make up Super Challenge 2000 will be played on August 16, 18 & 20. The first two matches are day-night fixtures starting at 2.30pm while the final match of the series is a day game beginning at 10am.
The matches will be the first official one-day internationals to be played in a covered stadium.
