Zimbabwe's preparations for the short series against South Africa A in Bulawayo got off to a disruptive start when half the squad were left stranded in Kadoma after the bus they were traveling in burst a tyre.
The players, including Zimbabwe captain Prosper Utseya, had to stay in a hotel in Kadoma, which is about 200km from Harare, overnight when the bus burst its tyre as they travelled from Harare. They finally arrived in Bulawayo on Wednesday morning.
Zimbabwe coach Kevin Curran, players Gary Brent, Edward Rainsford, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Brendan Taylor, Anthony Ireland, Ryan Higgins, Gregory Strydom, Tawanda Mupariwa, Christopher Mpofu and Sean Williams travelled separately and reached Bulawayo on time.
The breakdown threw Curran's training plans into chaos. The squad was meant to undergo a net session together at Queens on Wednesday morning, only the players who made it to Bulawayo took part but some of them had their kit in the bus.
