Fans call for Jordaan

LOWERHOUSE supporters have been collecting names for a petition
to try to get Corrie Jordaan to return to the club next summer.
As we exclusively revealed on Saturday, the South African, whose
bowling has taken the Lancashire League by storm this summer,
has decided he won't be signing on again for Lowerhouse after
all.
And, despite some confusion surrounding Jordaan's position, he
is unlikely to have a change of mind and return to the West End.
One possibility, however, is that he could eventually join
another league club, as he is keen to come back to England.
Jordaan had, in fact, already accepted a new contract with
Lowerhouse but he revealed that he would now be cancelling that
agreement because he did not believe the players wanted him to
return.
Lowerhouse, so far, have refused to comment but they were
expected to issue a statement today outlining their side of the
situation and the sudden about-turn which has shocked many
people throughout the league.
Jordaan is far and away the leading wicket-taker and has been
largely responsible for Lowerhouse maintaining a championship
challenge.
Their victory over Todmorden yesterday pushed them back into
third place and the professional has become particularly popular
with the supporters, as well as in the local community.
He has made a big effort to get involved and to promote the
club.
