Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly and master batsman Sachin Tendulkar will
be the rival captains in a unique contest between left and right
handed players at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 29.
The Timex Challenge limited overs encounter is also a benefit match
for former Mumbai wicketkeeper Sulakshan Kulkarni, according to Press
Trust of India. The 34 year old Kulkarni who retired from first class
cricket last year played 61 first class games in a career dating back
to 1985/86. He turned out for four different teams in the national
competition (Assam, Mumbai, Railways and Vidarbha) making 3169 runs at
39.61 and collecting 138 dismissals.
The match which will be telecast live by Doordarshan also features
players like Rahul Dravid, V V S Laxman and Ajit Agarkar (all right
handers) and Hrishikesh Kanitkar, Vinod Kambli, Robin Singh and Sunil
Joshi (all left handers).
