At a meeting earlier this week, the Gauteng Cricket Board elected its new committee of selectors. They have gone for two very experienced passed players.
Dr Mohamed Moosajee, a well-known doctor was elected as the convenor of selectors. He captained Transvaal and SA Schools and represented Transvaal before unity. After unity he represented Gauteng at U/24 level. Currently he is a Board Member of the Gauteng Cricket Board and is the Chairman of the Provincial Cricket Committee. During the Bangladesh tour recently, he travelled with the South African team as the team doctor.
Steven Jack was also elected onto the selection committee. Steven played for Transvaal from 1990 to 1997, and represented South Africa in 1994 and 1995. In 1996 he picked up an injury, which forced him to retire from playing cricket. He has been involved in club cricket from 1998 and is currently the Vice-Chairman of this club.
