Good decision, but we want ICC action, says BCCSL president

Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka president Thilanga Sumathipala said the decision taken by Australian umpire Darrel Hair to stand down from officiating in any of Sri Lanka's matches in next month's World Series Cup was "a good decision for the sake of cricket".
"However, our protest to the ICC (International Cricket Council) over Hair's conduct will remain," said Sumathipala yesterday.
"We will pursue with the ICC to take action against Hair for violating the body's code of conduct," he said.
Hair angered BCCSL officials with his comments on the country's leading bowler Muthiah Muralitharan in his book 'Decision Maker' which was recently published in Australia.
The BCCSL protested to the ICC stating that Hair had violated Section 8 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Section 8 reads:
"Players, umpires and team officials shall not make any public pronouncement or media comment which is detrimental either to the game in general; or to a particular tour in which they are involved; or about any tour between other countries which is taking place; or to relations between the Boards of the competing teams".
