A confident Hong Kong continued on their winning ways at the ACC Women's Twenty20 Championships 2009 with a comprehensive victory over Oman.
Hong Kong again won the toss and elected to bat in very humid conditions. Hong Kong's openers again got off to a positive start, putting pressure on the Oman fielders and looking to score off every ball. Keenu Gill was finally run out on 23, then wicketkeeper Emma Phillips was moved up the order and batted very positively with Neisha Pratt. They had developed a strong partnership worth over 50 runs until Neisha Pratt was all run out for 47. Number 4 bat Connie Wong and Emma then put on 50 runs in the last 5 overs to finish with the competitive score of 166-2 from 20 overs.
In reply, Oman opened positively and threw their bat at the Hong Kong opening bowlers. First change bowlers Chan Sau Ha and Ishtiaa Gidwani bowled beautifully and tightened things up with the Oman team never regaining any momentum. Chan Sa Ha finished her 4 overs with 1 run and 1 wicket and Ishitaa Gidwani picked up 2 wickets for only 1 run from her 4 overs. Connie Wong came back to finish the Oman team, her final figures were 4 for 8 from 2.4 overs and she picked up the player of the match award.
