Paul Horton, who is one of three scholarship players on Lancashire's books
this year, was an eleventh-hour addition to the squad that departed for
their pre-season training camp to South Africa on Monday 24th March.
A prolific right handed batsman, he had an Australian upbringing but with
parents who hail from Liverpool, he plays for Sefton Cricket Club.
Horton,19, replaces all-rounder Chris Schofield who sustained an ankle
injury after falling down a flight of stairs over the weekend. He is
unlikely to be fit over the next couple of weeks and is having intensive
treatment at home in the hope of being fit for the start of the season.
