INDIA v WEST INDIES 1994-95

At Vishakhapatnam, November 7

15-Apr-1996
At Vishakhapatnam, November 7. India won by four runs. Toss: India.
Returning to the bilateral Pepsi series two days after the Wills final, the tourists found most of their kit had been flown on to Madras by mistake. By the time it was retrieved, there was time for only 44 overs a side, and West Indies' slow over-rate cut their own innings to 43. In excellent conditions, Sidhu saw his team to a fine 260 with his fifth century in one-day internationals, an Indian record. Simmons and Williams began the chase soundly, but the latter stages were sustained almost single-handedly by Hooper, who smashed 74 not out off a mere 47 balls, with seven fours and two sixes. He needed to hit Prabhakar's final ball for six to tie; but he managed only two.
Man of the Match: N. S. Sidhu.
