At Bangalore, March 23, 2010. Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 36 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore 171-5 (20 overs) (R. V. Uthappa 68*; M. Muralitharan 3-25); ‡Chennai Super Kings 135-7 (20 overs) (M. L. Hayden 32, S. Badrinath 31; R. Vinay Kumar 4-40). MoM: R. V. Uthappa.
For Bangalore, Kallis was finally dismissed after scoring 283 runs in five innings, but Uthappa ransacked 23 off five balls in the penultimate over from Lakshmipathy Balaji, and in all collected 39 off his last ten balls as Bangalore galloped from 119 after 17 overs to 171. Chennai, already without the injured Dhoni, suffered a mortal blow when Hayden was run out by a brilliant underarm throw from Rahul Dravid.
