No charge laid against Hookes following ACB Code of Behaviour investigation

Australian Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland announced today that Victorian Bushrangers coach David Hookes would not be charged under the ACB Code of Behaviour.

Mr Sutherland's decision follows receipt of a report from an independent investigator on public comments attributed to Mr Hookes in October.

The ACB asked its investigator to assess whether Mr Hookes' comments warranted a report under clause 10 of the Code of Behaviour, which relates to Detrimental Public Comment.

Mr Sutherland said that following his review of the investigator's report he felt that the matter did not need to be pursued further.

"Having considered the report submitted by the investigator I have decided that David Hookes should not be charged under the ACB Code of Behaviour," Mr Sutherland said.

"The investigation was conducted to give David an opportunity to explain the comments that were attributed to him and, based on the findings of the investigator, I do not believe the matter should be taken any further."
