Bangladesh A 288 for 3 (Omar 133*, Jahural 59, Ayub 53*) trail Zimbabwe A 293 (Williams 82, Matsikenyeri 73, Shahzada 5-45) by five runs

After a good opening day for Zimbabwe A, it was Bangladesh A's turn to dominate at Fatullah and they ended in a strong position thanks to superb bowling from Mohammad Shahzada in the morning and then a determined hundred from Javed Omar.

Zimbabwe resumed in a good position on 276 for 4 but in fewer than seven overs they lost six wickets for 10 runs, with Shahzada grabbing four and Mohammad Sharif the other two.

The hugely experienced Omar and 20-year-old Jahurul Islam gave Bangladesh a breezy start in an opening stand of 111, and when Jahural, who had taken the lead in the partnership, fell for 59, Omar took charge. He played fluently but only found support when 18-year-old Marshall Ayub came in with the score on 168 for 3. Together they took Bangladesh to 288 for 3 at stumps, Omar reaching his eighth first-class hundred in the final half hour, after which he really opened up.
