over Anfords English CC in the 14th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Cricket
Tournament played at the KG ground on Saturday evening.
Batting first, Anfords English CC reached 184 for 6 in their 25
stipulated overs. Mansoor Baig, coming in at the fall of the first
wicket, had a delightful knock of 77 runs. Tariq Haroon (27) and Zahid
Ghori (20) also batted well.
Zeeshan Essa was easily the pick of the KG Blues attack, claiming
3/30. Ghazanfar Khan, using the new ball for good measure, had figures
of 2/26 in his five over spell.
Karachi Gymkhana Blues got off to a flying start when Shoaib and Azhar
Khan (52) put on 112 runs for the opening wicket. With Adnan Riaz
weighing in with 36 runs, KG Blues passed their opponents total with
an over to spare in reaching 188 for 3. Faraz Wasti bowled a fine line
and length and was rewarded with 2/25.
