Pakistan v Bangladesh

At Dhaka, January 24 (day/night)

15-Apr-2003
At Dhaka, January 24 (day/night). Pakistan won by 72 runs. Toss: Pakistan.
This match took an ugly twist during Bangladesh's reply. After bowling five expensive overs, Shoaib Akhtar was fielding on the fine-leg boundary when a brick thrown from the stands struck his head. He was rushed to hospital, but was not seriously hurt. The players left the field and it was 45 minutes before Waqar Younis agreed to resume. It had no bearing on the result, which, despite another faltering start from Pakistan, had been put beyond doubt by Yousuf Youhana's magnificent 112 in 108 balls, then his best in one-day internationals. A 35-ball flurry by Abdul Razzaq helped add 98 in the last ten overs and set a daunting 282. The home batsmen at least fared better than two days earlier as Tushar Imran, just 18, found the gaps to make a maiden fifty.
Man of the Match: Yousuf Youhana.
