Sri Lanka Cricket has brought forward the second T20 against West Indies to Novermber 11, after the original date of November 12 was declared a day of mourning by president Maithripala Sirisena. The second T20 will be played at Khettarama as scheduled.
"Tickets purchased for the November 12 (2nd T20) are valid for November 11," an SLC release said. "As a mark of respect, musical instruments (papare bands) will not be permitted to be played on this day."
The change in schedule means the teams have little time to hold a training session before the second game, as they must travel from Kandy to Colombo on November 10 - the day after the first T20 on Monday.
The board had moved to change the date, on Sunday, and had received the WICB's approval overnight.
The day of mourning was declared for Most Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera, an eminent Buddhist monk and political figure, who died on Sunday.
