The inter-school Elephant Lemonade Cup cricket match between St. Sebastian's College, Moratuwa and St. Anthony's College, Wattala ended in a draw at St. Sebastian's grounds, Moratuwa yesterday.

The highlight of the match were two fine innings by Sebastianite Suranga de Silva who scored 52 and 48 not out in the first and second innings respectively.

St. Sebastian's 192 (Suranga de Silva 52, Malshan Fernando 27, Nuwan Fernando 26, Ruwan Amila 4 for 50, Shaminda Perera 2 for 0, C. Gamanayake 2 for 48, Indika Perera 2 for 29) and 202 for 5 (Primesh Perera 61, Kanchana Cooray 56, Suranga de Silva 48 n.o., Indika Perera 2 for 17).

St. Anthony's, Wattala 216 (Ruwan Amila 53, Indika Perera 28, A. Ramaswamy 29, C. Gamanayake 21, Dilip Fernando 3 for 40, Primesh Perera 2 for 18, Nuwan Fernando 2 for 36, Sumanjan Fernando 2 for 46).

Skipper A. Farook hit a top score of 96 with 12 fours and took a match bag of 6 wickets for 54 to steer St. Thomas', Matara to an innings and 4 runs win over Debarawewa in their schools cricket match played at Matara yesterday.

Debarawewa 173 in 65 overs (B. Kumarasinghe 74, A. Farook 4 for 48, K. Rohana 3 for 17, N.C. Komasaru 2 for 28) and 137 in 48.3 overs (B. Kumarasinghe 36, G. Gamage 26, S. Gamage 21, N.C. Komasaru 4 for 14, N.P. Wickremasekera 2 for 12, A. Farook 2 for 26)

Dickie Dunuwila, a Senior Umpire attached to the Association of Cricket Umpires of Sri Lanka has been appointed umpires Liaison officer for the Asia Cup Test match between India and Sri Lanka due to be played from February 24 to 28 at the SSC grounds.

Dickie is an old boy of St. Anthony's College, Katugastota and has been in the field of umpiring since 1967 first with the Central Province Cricket Umpires Association, then with Sri Lanka Cricket Umpires Association before joining the ACUSL. He is presently the Assistant Secretary of the ACUSL.
