Royal and Thurstan figured in an exciting draw in their inter
school cricket encounter concluded at Reid Avenue Sunday. Set to
make 176 for victory from 30 overs, Thurstan fell short by just
16 runs following a superb batting performance.
They were cruising along at one stage with Hemantha Boteju,
Chamara Liyanage and Manoj Hettiarachchi all making good contributions.
But Royal came back into the game with Yasaswin Dharmaratne
claiming two wickets in successive deliveries in the 17 th mandatory over. Thurstan then put up their shutters and soon settled
down for a draw.

Antonians SC pulled off a first innings victory over Colts CC in
their Coca Cola Division one segment A Cricket tournament fixture
concluded at Havelock Park yesterday. The home side added only
one run to their overnight total with Priyantha Weragoda capturing the last wicket to finish with figures of 4 for 86.

Dabare spins CC to 9-wicket win
Off-spinner Niranjan Dabare spun CCC to a nine-wicket win over
Singha SC with figures of 7 for 61 in the second innings of their
Coca Cola division I Segment `A' match played at Maitland Crescent yesterday.
CCC resuming from 318 for 7 gained a first innings lead of 99
with Wendell Labrooy contributing an exhilarating half-century
off 39 balls with seven fours. Singha were bundled out for 152 in
the second innings by Dabare, which left CCC with the formality
of scoring 54 for victory in 26 overs.
