Hong Kong scored their third win in as many matches when they thumped Kuwait by 104 runs at the ACC Women's Twenty20 Championships 2009 being played in Kuala Lumpur.
Batting first after winning the toss, Hong Kong got off to a very positive start with Keenu Gill blasting the bad balls to the boundary to notch up 31 after only 5 overs. When she was in the caught in the covers for a well struck 37, including 7 boundaries, Chan Sau Ha and Neisha Pratt continued the positive work. The two put together a sizeable partnership before Chan Sau Ha was run out with her rscore on 28. Connie Wong came out with only 3 overs to go and quickly finished off proceedings. Hong Kong finished with the impressive score of 168-2 off their 20 overs with skipper Neisha Pratt finishing unbeaten on 60.
In reply Kuwait got off to a positive start with the opening bats throwing their bats at the opening Hong Kong bowlers. The first change bowlers for Hong Kong slowed the pace and the Kuwait batters quickly fell behind the required run rate. The captain for Kuwait made 20 but there were no other sizeable contributions. Bowling for Hong Kong Chan Sau Ha picked up 3 wickets while Ishitaa Gidwani captured 2. Kuwait finished on 64-9 from their 20 overs, a 104 run winning margin for Hong Kong.
Player of the match was Hong Kong's captain Neisha Pratt.
