Total washout in Mercantile 'A' Division
All the scheduled matches of the Mercantile Cricket Association's "A" division tournament, were called off due to bad weather
Coming into the second week of the Mercantile "A" division cricket tournament,eight matches were scheduled for the weekend with all ten participating teams have played two matches each in the first week.
Sampath Bank "A" team remain at the top of the points table having won all their preliminary round matches so far in the tournament. They beat Janashakthi Group "A" by five wickets and Bartleet Group "A" by 71 runs. This week their matches against Singer Sri Lanka "A" and the Hatton National Bank who are at the third spot in the table were abandoned due to bad weather condition. Sampath Bank "A" retained their top position with four more points adding to their previous eight points with a nett runs rate of +2.97.
Seylan Bank "A" who also won their previous two matches, went down to the seventh position in the points table with only three matched been played and a plus run rate. Hatton National Bank follows with the same amount of points and in contention with a positive net run rate.
