Eighty girls appeared in the two-day trials which started at the Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday as the first leg of finalising a national team to take part in the IWCC Cricket Trophy qualifying round to be held in Holland from July 18 to 28.
A two-member selection committee of former Test captain and ex-chairman of national selection committee Imtiaz Ahmad and Test all-rounder Ijaz Faqih supervised the trials in two sessions. The trials will also be held on Wednesday.
The two-day next round of trials will be held at Peshawar Gymkhana Cricket Ground on April 15 and 16. The trials will also be held at Karachi (April 22 and 23), Quetta (April 25 and 26), Faisalabad (April 29 and 30) and in the last at Multan on May 1 and 2.
Imtiaz said that he could not say how many probables would be picked from Lahore. But he added a total of 30 to 35 probables would be selected for the training camp after completing the trials on May 2.
Besides Pakistan, teams from West Indies, Japan, Ireland and Scotland will also play in the qualifying round.
