Western Australia crushed the Pakistanis by ten wickets in the tour match at the WACA. After bundling out the Pakistanis for 174 in the second innings, the Warriors required only 33 for victory, which they notched up with ease.
Brett Dorey struck the first blow for the Warriors, removing Imran Farhat for only 5, before Ben Edmondson prised out the vital middle-order wickets of Inzamam-ul-Haq, Yousuf Youhana and Younis Khan. And right before lunch Steve Magoffin had Salman Butt - who resisted with 47 - nicking one behind to Ryan Campbell. Dorey then returned to wipe out the last four batsmen, leaving Abdul Razzaq stranded on 35.
Then Justin Langer and Mike Hussey achieved the 33 runs needed for the comprehensive victory without further incident. For Pakistan, the signs were not good. A loss in three days on the same ground where they are to play the first Test does not bode well. And of the last ten deliveries of the match, bowled by Mohammad Sami and Abdul Razzaq, six were no-balls.
