WI local: Wanderers take lead after tame draw

St. Catherine 262-8 dec'd, Wanderers 291-4 dec'd
Mark Sealy carved his way to an unbeaten 102 and Stephen Leslie
assisted with 50 not out in an unbroken fourth wicket partnership of
176 as Cockspur Wanderers took first innings lead against BNB St.
Catherine in a tame draw.
Sealy went to the wicket at 125 for three, after wicket-keeper Patrick
Browne brought off his second stumping when Owen Birch over balanced
from a delivery that left him.
Fast bowler Victor Skeete served a number of short-pitched deliveries
to Sealy, but he weathered the storm and survived for the next 108
balls in which he struck two sixes and 12 fours.
Leslie took his time to compile a well-played half-century which
contained only three fours.
The pair took advantage of some short and at times wayward bowling
which was not helped by some shabby fielding.
Pacer Brian Shepherd looked the most impressive of the bowlers.
After having Sean Armstrong (63) dropped at long leg last week, he was
elated to capture his old schoolmate caught at slip by Dale Mason in
the first delivery after tea. He also had Chris Humprey caught at
gully.
