Zimbabwe v India, 2016

Wisden's review of the third ODI, Zimbabwe v India, 2016

15-Apr-2017
Third one-day international At Harare, June 15, 2016. India won by ten wickets. ‡Zimbabwe 123 (42.2 overs) MoM: K. L. Rahul. MoS: K. L. Rahul. ODI debut: F. Y. Fazal (India).
Zimbabwe saved the worst until last. Thanks largely to Chamu Chibhabha and Sibanda, they reached 104-3: then six wickets crashed for six in 24 balls, four of them to Bumrah, who improved on his careerbest four days earlier. The unusual angles created by his upright, wide-of-the-crease style were too much for the batsmen; they were just as baffled by Patel's changes of pace (rather than any appreciable turn) as he conceded just 16 off ten overs. Rahul, who keeps wicket for his IPL team, held a couple of sharp chances at slip, and Dhawal Kulkarni made a direct-hit run-out off his own bowling. India coasted home inside 22 overs. Faiz Fazal scored an efficient 55* on international debut, aged 30; the only tourist with no IPL contract, he had been called up from Durham's Hetton Lyons in the North East Premier League.
